I am having all kinds of emotions going through my head right now. I found out this afternoon that the waters are too crazy from hurricane Irene to allow us to do the swimming portion of our triathalon. I am kinda mad because we have trained so hard and I don't want to do this again. So now I cant say I did a triathalon but a biathalon.
I think deep down, my little purple angel knew what was to come so this is what has to be. I love my angel and I am doing this in her honor and memory! This is going to be the best thing I have done with Dawn and am proud to say we had a donation given to the lymphoma society for $700.00.
Only a few more days left! Look our Washington DC. Here we come!!

What if ???
What if I loose steam during my swim?
What if I have a panic attack?
What if I forget some of my equipment to do the triathelon?
What if I can't find Dawn after the swim?
What if I disappoint myself or my family?
What if I can't complete the race?
What if??... that was what was going on in my mind today as I did my last swimming training before the marathon.. Heh what else do I have to think about while I am doing my 76 laps in the pool? My arms were hurting, I was slowing down toward the end, and I couldnt help but think maybe I haven't trained hard enough and won't be able to do this. My nerves aren't quite in a bundle yet, but they are getting there soon.
When speaking to Dawn last night, her anxiety level was high as well. She was doubting herself as well. I know she will do well, as long as she takes a deep breath and just does it. I too am having some anxiety issues right now, but deep down I know we will do fine because we have our little purple angel that is going to help us get through this and when it is all over we are going to be laughing and crying about it and feel so amazingly proud of ourselves.
Only 4 days, 9 hours and 29 seconds!!!

One more week
Switched up my training today just a tad. went for my bike ride which was suppose to be an hour and a half, came up 20 min. short and boy did everyone back at the house sitting around eating pizza let me know. I adventured out at 6pm when it got a little cooler. I took my usual bike ride up to sikorsky bridge and followed it over into Milford. Since I dont know Milford that well, I just took the main road south in hopes that it would get me to a place that was familiar. Well it did just that. The road which I had never been on took me right out to Expect on the post road. The Post Road was a little scarry since the people who drive on it are CRAZY!! I was happy to get back into Stratford and home safely, even if it only took an hour and 10 min. It was worth the shortened time to get out of the busy roads. Not sure of the mileage, will have to check it another day. Tommorow is our party for Gpa's 90th birthday! So I figured I can do a quick hour long run in the morning. See you tomorrow!!

SLOWING DOWN
September 1st. I can't believe summer is over even though school hasnt started because of hurricane Irene, but only 10 more days!! It's kinda hard to do slower training excercises. I feel like I should be doing more. Although I must say, I have cheated because I havent been doing the swim part. No pool to swim in. I think the Shelton pool is closed because of no electricity and its too late by the time I get home from work to swim in our pool. Even though tomorrow is an off day, I am going to do a little swimming in our pool during the day. I am off for the next three days so I plan on doing my training in the morning instead of later in the day and

Nervousness setting in
As I wind down with my training for the triathalon, I have to look back at how far I have come with this adventure. I started at a point in my life were I couldnt even walk around the block, then made it to were I can run for 6.2 miles. I may have to stop a few times and walk a little, but that is a big difference. I spoke with a coworker today and we were chatting about the triathalon and she commented on how long and hard I have been training and how proud I should be. I never really thought about it,but I am proud of how far I have gotten.
I now look at the two sheets of paper in front of me that has the training schedule on it. I remember in the beginning it was like 30 pages. I could only print a few at a time because it was so over whelming. Now there are only 2 sheet left meaning there are only 2 weeks of training left and I am half way through one of the sheets already. It seams so strange to only have to do a minimal training. One in which I couldnt even do in the beginning and now I joke about being such a small amount of training.
Well time is getting close so as you can see by my post, I am rambling a little. I do that when I get nervous.
Only 10 days to go!! look out DC, here comes Dawn and I!!

Long bike ride
Well, I had to work 12 hours and then to the gym I went. My body still feels pretty good after that Saturday event, but really didnt want to exercise. I started very slowly and could barely stay awake to peddle. I think I only kept my pace at 60-70 rpm. I did finish my hour with a whopping 12 miles completed. How pathetic I thought to only do 12 miles. I felt like a wimp which I preceded to tell Dawn my not great night, but she nicely put it all back into perspective and reminded me of not to long ago not being able to even ride a bike for 10 minutes, let alone 12 miles. It made me giggle and think, you are so right Dawn, how far I have come. Well its only like 12 days and I AM READY!!!!
